We have always believed that quality is not just a technical feature, but a value that stands the test of time. Being an “invisible yet essential component” in our clients’ processes is what has made Gem Chimica a trusted and valued partner in the industrial and agri-food sectors, both in Italy and abroad.

Our story began in 1980, with the marketing of detergents, lubricating oils, and industrial maintenance products. From the very beginning, listening to the market and maintaining a direct relationship with our clients have guided our strategic decisions.

In 1987, thanks to the experience gained and the evolving needs of production processes, Gem Chimica took a decisive step: its core business shifted toward professional cleaning and the sanitation of systems, equipment, and environments in the food sector (Chemicals & Sanitation), alongside the development of solutions for the treatment of primary, wastewater, and process water (Water Treatment). In the same year, the Analysis Laboratory was also established, now structured to provide advanced analytical services across a wide range of matrices: water, food, feed, sludge, waste, compost, silage, workplace environments, and atmospheric emissions.

Gem Chimica’s growth continues in an organic and integrated manner.

In 2010, the Agri-Food Consulting service was launched, aiming to support companies in managing food safety through guidance on HACCP and self-control systems, voluntary standards (BRC, IFS, ISO), labeling, certified training, and support for primary production. During the same period, the Pest Control service was also launched, dedicated to managing environmental hygiene and controlling rodents and pests through risk assessment plans and targeted interventions.

Starting in 2011, Gem Chimica further expanded its scope by operating in the renewable energy and biomass/biogas sectors, offering Environmental Consulting services and specialized technical support.

In 2020, we inaugurated our Cosmetic Laboratory, a strategic step that strengthens our in-house production capabilities: here, we develop formulations both for the food industry and third-party cosmetics, applying high-quality standards, full traceability, and chemical-formulation expertise gained over more than forty years of experience.
